Dear Wine Lover,
Saffredi 2015: It is a Bordeaux blend with 60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 10% petit verdot. The style of the wine is very elegant but full bodied, something that needs to be tried. This is in our opinion is one of the greatest price quality wines in Italy and our of our clients favourite. We just received in our cellar the highly acclaimed 2015 Saffredi and I think this could be spot on for you.
2015 was a spectacular vintage for Tuscany, James Suckling who was the first one to release a report on the vintage has highly prized the vintage. James Suckling rated Saffredi 99 Points, higher rating both Solaia,Sassicaia and Biserno , than stating it is a serious red all the way.
Our sommelier informed me last year that the 2015 Saffredi was just incredible and has reached new hights with the 2015 and we were all looking forward to receive this. Finally It arrived.
Saffredi is the icon of Fattoria Le Pupille. A wine which owes his birth to the desires and intuitions of Elisabetta (the owner of the producer), who with the precious help of Giacomo Tachis (the late wine maker of Sassicaia, Tignanello, Solaia and most of the famous italian wines), wanted to make a great wine in Maremma. Saffredi was born in 1987 and became very quickly a legend. The name saffredi come from Fredi, the man who inspired Elisabetta passion for wine.
It is a typical bordeaux blend with 60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot , 10% petit verdot. Impenetrable ruby red, a beautiful density in the glass. The scents go from red fruits, red currant, blackberries and spices such as cloves, cinnamon and chocolate. In the palate the wine is well-rounded and velvety, engaging all senses with majestic balance. The long persistence allows to fully enjoy the aromatic complexity, in which the spiciness is prevalent.
Loads of clients have been waiting for this and as quantity is not so big, dont miss this opportunity!

James Suckling "99" Points: I love the currant and rosemary character of this wine. Some sage, too. Complex aromas that draw you in. Full body, extremely tight and chewy with a long and intense finish. The tannins are fantastic so polished. Focused and beautiful. Mineral undertone with ash and hot stone highlighting the dark fruits. It goes on for minutes. Needs three or four years to come together. But a serious red all the way.
